Holiday Traditions & Happenings
A couple of weeks ago the doorbell rang. Gager opened the door to find a package. It was a book titled Elf on a Shelf. The book was in a box that looked like a little elf was supposed to come with it. Well I started reading the book to Gavin, Gage, and Daddy, and we found that there was supposed to be an elf with the book! We had to give him a name, so Fred was what the boys came up with. We still did not know where that elf was! The book told us that Fred was sent by Santa to help keep watch during the holidays. Fred stays with us during the day and then at night reports back to Santa with the good, bad, and ugly. He uses his magic powers to fly to Santa at night then in the morning he will be in a new spot. The boys started searching the house high and low for our little Fred. It wasn't long before he was spotted in the kitchen on a shelf! There are some rules to follow with our house elf. #1 Fred does NOT talk to children only to Santa and parents. #2 Little boys and girls cannot touch him, or he will lose his magic powers! If he loses his powers, he won't be able to tell Santa if you were good and what you want for Christmas! YIKES! Needless to say the search is on every morning for Fred. He has been in the bathroom, toyroom, and even the Tahoe! I kinda like having the little guy around if you know what I mean! ;)
Tonight we attended the Christmas parade downtown. The kids were pretty excited about the firetrucks and police cars. We saw our Mema in The Crossing's bus and our niece Kayleigh with the girl scouts. Gage thought he saw DonDon, but it wasn't really him. The boys got lots of candy and we FROZE! We had layered our clothes, but man is it cold out there! It was a lot of fun; Santa was even at the end!
