Playing with toys
Gage is almost 4 months old
Gage is growing with leaps and bounds! He is rolling over pretty good and has started liking laying on his belly. He moves around a lot and has started to grab at the toys we place in front of him. We had him in his crib the other day and these are the pictures we came out with! He found himself in the mirror!
Four Months Old
On April 26, 2006
I cannot believe that four months of Gage's little life has flown by. He is the sweetest thing! Without him and Gavin being such great children, I do not know how I would have made it to Graduation. Gage goes in for his four month check up on May the 9th. He will get a good look over him and get shots. :( He is going to be starting on cereal soon for breakfast and then after a week of that he we start on different kinds of baby food. I cannot believe that we are already to this point! We did get him and infant high chair from a resale shop for $24.99.(They are regular $75 new) It is in great shape and I cannot wait for Gage to get in it! He is rolling over and really getting around on his tummy. Before to long he will be up and running with Gavin!
1st Food....
Gage tackles cereal!
Gage got the okay from the doctor on Tuesday to start foods. We waited because he spits up and his doctor was looking into putting him on medicine. They did start him on Zantac and Regalan (sorry about the spelling). His spit up is better and he does like the cereal. He does not like that it does not go down as fast as the formula! He will get used to it though! He will probably be happy to start on some others foods - fruits and vegetables!
He is still drooling a lot! His bottom gums are bulging. We think that some teeth could pop up any day. Poor guy! He gets a little cranky about that. Aunt Heather said to try a cold or frozen wash cloth for him to suck on and we are going to try that. I think that might work.
He is doing good rolling over and he is trying to crawl and roll from back to tummy. He is really working his little legs over trying to get them under him and then push out. He moves backward instead of forward right now.
Gage is just a wonderful, happy baby! We are so blessed to have him in our lives. We love you Gage!
Is it already time for this?
Gage starting to crawl
Gage is really starting to get around. He yanks those little legs under his body and then pushes out. It will not be much longer before he is into everything! WOW, I thought those baby days were gone with Gavin grown. I guess I probably need to do a little baby proofing! HA!
Daddy is so funny...
Ray and Gage had the best time last night. Ray had Gage laughing, I mean really laughing or maybe cackling. The moment was priceless so I HAD to get my camera out despite Ray saying no. It was a sweet Father/Son moment.
What is this?
Do I work this thing?
Gage was relaxing in his highchair after eating lunch, when he pulled his foot up and just looked at it like "Hey where did you come from?" It was the cutest thing. You know usually you cannot get the camera out quick enough before they stop doing what was so darn cute to get the camera out. Well he looked the foot over for a good 10 minutes. Here are the cute pics!
5 Months Old
Gage, you are really growing up! Mommy and Daddy cannot believe how the time has flown by! You are such a big boy! You eat in the highchair 3 times a day. You have cereal for breakfast and then a bottle. For lunch you have squash right now and then a bottle. For dinner you have squash again and then a bottle! You have two other bottles in between. You are doing so well eating, instead of spitting it out and mommy having to scrape your face off and put it back in your mouth, you actually chew (a little) and swallow. Now you have started opening your mouth knowing the spoon is coming! It is so cute!
Here is the BIG thing for this month - You got in your FIRST tooth. It is on the bottom and to your left! It is so cute. I cannot believe that it is already time for this. We thought your bottom gum was bulging but had no idea that it was really there! The other side of your tooth looks big so maybe there is another waiting to pop up!
You are such a joy to our lives. You are a wonderful and very happy baby. You love to get in the saucer or walker. You like to scoot/crawl around. Your tummy time has been a little neglected because of your reflux. But you are on medicine and are doing better. I think that it is time to increase your dosage. You are such a easy baby. Your are laid back like your daddy, but you don't like loud sounds! You sleep all night in your own crib. We are so blessed to have you in our lives.
You and Bubba play all the time. Gavin loves to help with you. If you cry and your brother always makes it to you first! The two of you are going to be big running buddies! I cannot wait until that time! Well I can because I do not want either of you growing up! Mommy and Daddy loves you both!
Another One?
Two New Teeth
Gage has not one but two new teeth! They are so cute and coming up so well. I just cannot believe that he is already this old. By the way, Gavin did this same thing. Instead of getting one new tooth, he got two!
Gage's 1st swim
Gage went swimming for the first time with Gavin, Mommy, and Nana at Nana's friend Mona and Fred's pool. Gage liked being outside but the sun was not out on the pool and the water was a little cold. Gavin had a good time. He is a little rusty on his swimming technique but he did not do too bad!
Gage's 1st Brickfest
We or I put Gage in the little Baby Brickfest pageant on June 24th. He was so cute. As we were waiting in line for our turn to go on stage, Gage fell asleep. He did not cry when I turned him around for the judges and crowd to see him. Here are a few pictures!
Bath Time
Gage you are such a joy. You are so happy all the time. You enjoy your baths so much right now. In there pictures you are trying to roll from your back to your belly. You are just adorable!
Gage is 6 months old!
Where has half a year gone?
Gage - You are such a wonderful and happy baby. You are in a good mood all the time. You are not full out crawling yet. You are so close. You can crawl, you just have not figured out that is how you can actually get somewhere. You don't see the long distances just the passy or toy right in front of you. You can sit up on your own if we put you in that position. You can roll (all the time) from belly to back. You are working really hard on going from back to belly. You love to eat. We have been concerned because you started cutting out bottles. But you are still growing and Dr. Rowe says that you are fine! You love Bananas, Pears, Sweet Potatoes, Carrots. You hated green beans and peaches. You are just precious and such a joy. We love you Bubba!
7 Months Old
Gage is really growing up! I cannot believe that you are already 7 months old! You are getting so big! You are really on the go! I cannot put you on the floor on a blanket any more....because you go where ever you want! You will crawl to the fireplace, the couches, the DVD player, the lamps, shelves, basically anything that you are really not supposed to! I guess the house is not "baby proofed" even though we hardly have anything in the house still! We are going to have to buy a play pen. But it is sooo cute to see you crawl around. You eat so much. You love your time in the highchair especially since we bought some "biter biscuits." You love them. You almost have two more teeth. The front two are about to pop out any day! You love to naw on the biscuit for some releif! You kind-a/sort-a sat up last night for Nana. You did a sit up. I was really impressed because I think that you can do one better than I can. Here are some things that you love - playing with your bubba, your thumb, crawling, Baby Einstein, "Biter Biscuits," sitting up and playing. You still sleep all night, which Daddy and I are so thinkful for! You are just the happiest baby ever. Mommy starts back to school in a week so you will be staying with your new sitter, Ms. Melissa. It is very neat becasue her mother watched Mommy, Uncle BJ, and Aunt Kassy when they were little and now she is going to watch you! I am excited that you are going to be with a family friend! We are taking one vacation in August and going to see your cousins Cori and Lauren! They are so excited and so are we! We have not seen them in 2 years. They live in Mississippi! Keep up the growing Baby Boy and we love you!
Gage's Room
I said that I would post the kids room soon. Well here is Gage's room. I am still debating about painting canvases for him. I want to either paint an engine and then 4 flatbed train cars carrying a letter in Gage's name and then have a caboose. Or I am looking at ordering some paintings on-line. What do you think? The picture of the spike is from the railroad yard in Chicago when Gavin and I went on the train ride with Ray's mom. The quilt was made by a cousin Charlotte - Thanks it is so cute! The wall beside the window is empty and the wall above the changing table. I am not sure what to do; what you you all think?
Gage is 8 months old!
Oh my gosh!
Well Gage is 8 months old today. I cannot believe how the time has flown by! He is getting so big! When people ask how old he is and we say 8 months, some say WOW he is big and then others say he is so little! What do they mean? Is he little because he is a baby or what? I have no idea. he is really going through the growth spurts because for a week or two he is heavy and a chunk to carry around and then I go get him out of his crib and he is so light and feels taller. Gage is very strong. When he wants something you had better just get out of his way! He is crawling like a pro. We did invest in a playpen because we have a brick fireplace and things that he does not need to get into. He sits up all by his self and also STANDS up. He has been doing this very well for a while. He is always standing in the crib and in the play pen. he pulls up on everything that he crawls to. He has not figured out yet that when he lets go he has to balance to stay standing there. He falls back but gets right back up at it again! He can pretty much eat anything. He loves beans from Mexican places. He loves cheerios and spaghetti noodles. The doctor wanted us to wait until he was 9 months old for table food. But when he stares at you like "GIVE ME THAT OR I WILL JUST SCREAM." You feel really compeled to give it to him! People worry about them choking but we monitor what and how much we give him. Also we are sitting right beside him! He has said Mama and Bubba. No Dada yet. We thought that he said Nana the other day but I think that it was an accident. He has 4 teeth, almost 5. They are so cute! I will try to get a pic and post it. I think that is about it. Gage is jsut a happy baby! He is jsut perfect!
Love you little guy!
9 months old
Gage turned 9 months old today. He is growing so well. I cannot believe that he is already 9 months old. He is eating foods very well. He loves to eat whatever we are eating. Baby food in a jar is out the window! He does not want us to feed him; he wants to feed himself! (So independent! Just like big bro.) He stills takes 2-3 bottles a day. He is crawling all over the place! He pulls up on anything and everything! His new trick is to STAND UP by himself! Yes, just today he stood and held his balance, all by himself!!!!! We were eating at my parents and he just stood there in the middle of the floor! We were all amazed! He has another new tooth. So that makes 6 total. He goes in to the doctor next week for his 9 month check up and we will see what the doctor has to say. I believe that he will have to get more shots. It will not be too long and we will have to be planning a birthday party for him! We love you baby boy!
New Word
Gage has a new word "Ge" meaning get. He will tell you to get or to get something. It is so cute!! I just wanted to share!
Baby's First Christmas
Gage Matthew
Gager, this was your 1st Christmas! You did really good through all the festivites! We were busy all Christmas weekend. Walking, that is what you loved the most. You are so independent! You would open a few gifts and then walk around the room and then return back to look some more. You got lots of really neat gifts: From the Haight's you got a counting piggy bank - very cute!, Nana & Ba you got a 1st ornament, which was adorable, DVD player and a savings bond, from Mawmaw you got a pair of Robeez walking shoes, clothes, and toys, From Aunt Kassy you got the cutest clothes and lots of new socks, that you needed badly!, From Granny and Papa you got a piano and blocks, From Mema you got a cute snowman that rocks on a horse and a book, From us you got clothes and toys! You got tons of Baby's 1st Christmas ornaments! They were so cute!! You did very well and at the end Mommy and Daddy were sad because they relized that their baby was turning one tomorrow!
Love you lots Gager! You are a precious and sweet baby! We cannot wait for more Christmas to come!!
One Year Old
Gage's 1st Birthday Party
We had Gage's 1st Birthday the Saturday after his actual birthday. The theme was trains, planes, automobiles, and 1st birthday. It was very cute and goes with the theme in his room. Forget the decorations because he stole the party. He was everywhere, walking all over that is. It was like he was trying to entertain all of his guests. Cousins Coleton, Brooke, and Kayleigh were here. Friends Malaki, Lane, and Wyatt. Of course mostly the guests were adults - Gram, Pa, Mema, Nana, Ba, Sara, Gary, Mawmaw. Hopefully I did not leave anyone out. Gage had a hot dog and then he opened gifts. He was not into his gifts. We had to have his favorite person, Mema, sit beside ; Mom so Gage could open his gifts. He got some great gifts: books, clothes, sippe cups, train stuff, and money. Gage then dug into his own little cake. He ate almost every bit of it!! It was a very cute little party. I cannot believe that my baby is one!
New Trick
Gage is a monkey. He can crawl into and upon anything that he wants to. He has figured out getting onto any table and chair. He can also get onto the furniture and beds. I am a little afraid about him getting out of his crib. I do not think this will happen, because he sleeps the entire time he is in there. Really, we lay him down and we get him up.
He also has lots of words. He can say Mama, Daddy, Bubba, Ga'g'in, Daisy, Lissa, Nana, MeMA, bye, hi, hey, eat, "shut-up"???, cow, dog, bite, drink, thank you, welcome, hello, howareya...I know there are more. He does some sign language. More, thanks, bath.
He loves to talk on the phone. Feel free to call him because he can answer the phone!! He is just super cute and growing up too fast!!
Big Boy Bed
Gage met me at the door to his room the other morning. Why is that strange b/c he had crawled out of his crib!! We converted his bed and he is doing great! The first night we sat with him for 25 minutes to keep him in the bed and now we say time for bed Gage and he goes to bed!! He is still sleeping all night!
We are thinking about having the boys share a room and making one room a toy room. Does anyone have any thoughts on that? If we do we will get rid of the bunk beds in Gavin's room and get two twin beds for the boys. I think they would enjoy it.
Gage's Halloween
Some extra on Gage. He wore the skeleton costume that belonged to his brother at that age. He wore it way better than Gavin did! Gage loved Halloween. He loved going "boo" and "arhgh" to scare people. He sat very still while I painted his face. He was just precious!
Gage's 1st love...
Spongebob Squarepants
Gage is absolutely in love with Spongebob!! He can say his name and has a fit when ever or where ever he sees him! We are having his birthday party "under the sea!" It is going to be really neat!
Here are a few pics of Gage with our blow up Spongebob that is in the yard.

Gage's B-day
Happy 2nd!
It is hard to believe that we had Gage two years ago! He is so big and doing so much. He can say everyone's names. He has little sentences and phrases that he says. He seems more advanced than Gavin was; I think it is from his big bubba. We had pizza and a good Sonic drink for dinner. Ray made cupcakes and we sang happy birthday to him. He blew out his candle all by himself! He is really into putting things in cases, so we let him open a little tool case that we got him. he just loved it! His party is in week. Spongebob is the theme! Gage loves Spongebob... stayed tuned for pictures from Bikni Bottom...
Gage is 2!!
Sorry this post is so late. I cannot believe that two years has went by so fast! Gage is a little monster! He is getting very tall and is not afraid of anything! We are actually a little scared of him!! :) His party was of course Spongebob! Everything was so cute! The living room was an underwater sea adventure. The kitchen was decorated like the Krusty Krab. We had crabby patties and the cutest Spongebob cake! They hunted for Spongebob and did a pinata. His little friends Madyson and Lane came. Also best buddies Lily, Levi, and Austin. We had no cousins there because Coleton and Brooke moved to Colorado. :( Sara and Gary did make it up. Granny, Papa, Mema, Aunt Bev, Mawmaw, and your Lissa were all there. Nana was sick in the hospital and Pa was also not feeling well. The weather was warm, so we were able to play outside. They loved jumping on the trampoline. The kids had a blast.
You are just so precious! What a wonderful birthday!
Gage's 1st haircut
Well, I broke down and took Gage to get his haircut. His little curls were so cute but it was time for a trim. I thought that would be it, a little trim. Nope.... We went for it all. He did SO good. He sat there and was perfect. I am so sad that my baby is all grown up. (Atleast that is the way I feel.) Here are some pics of before and after.
1st black eye
For those of you that are around Gage much, know that he is constantly hurting himself and usually has the battle wounds to prove it. It seems he usually has a bruise on his face, well he really has a shiner now. This happened from a scooter incident. I wonder how bad it will get??
Man, he is tough!
Shoe Fetish
Gage has tons of shoes and he loves to pick out what shoes he is going to wear. Well he was in mommy's closet and decided these were the shoes he wanted. He posed for me and everything! ;)
Big Boy!
Gage has gotten so big here recently! Tonight he and Gavin had a bowl of cereal at the table together. It was so sweet. Gage actually had more in his mouth than on the floor. ;)
Just like his daddy...
Everyone has always said that Gavin looks more like me and Gage looks like Ray. Well tonight Gage did something that I have only seen Ray do and that was to put the remote control on his shoulder as he watched TV. It was the cutest thing and of course I did not grab the camera quick enough. Although I did manage to get a few cute shots!!
Where bubba?
Gage did not know what to think when Gavin was not in the car with me when I picked him up on Friday! He looked for him all afternoon, but it really hit when he got out of his bed and came to the living room with some of Gavin's clothes on. He had pulled them from the hamper! It was like he missed Gavin so much! We went back and got his own clothes, but he would not let us help! He wanted to do it himself! He told us "no help!"
It was like both my babies grew up over night! :(
Cutie
Here is a cute little pic of Gage and myself at a baby shower. The other pic is Gage trying HARD to fit a little PINK baby shoe on. He loves shoes, so he had to try this one out!
Pee-pee in the potty!!!
We (us and the babysitter) have really been on Gage about peeing and pooping in the potty. Ms. Lissa has been on him all week. It was a battle, and she says she is going to win! :) I figured I better not let her hard work go to waste, so I put Gage on the potty this morning! He had peed in the pull-up, but he had a lot to drink late. He climbed up on Dora and PEED!!!! I was so excited!!! He got candy, and then he put on big boy underwear. We are going to try to spend as much time at home this weekend to try and get this boy potty trained!
The one pic is of Gage saying I did it!!! The other is him putting on the underwear without my help.
Gage
It is amazing to me how brothers can be SO alike and SO different at the same time! I do not remember Gavin being as "big" acting as Gage. Gager is always doing something to crack us up!! He is always into something. He climbs on everything. Whatever he wants he gets. He got in the refrigarator the other day and got out the milk. (I know some of you are thinking why did we not know where he was and what he was doing... Well that little turd is fast!!!) He had it poured and everywhere by the time I got in there. He had also added some chocolate to it! :) He keeps us on our toes. Can't believe that he is going to be three! Oh and potty training is still great! A few accidents here and there, but he is trained! Just takes a little reminding! We have taken him everywhere, and he stays dry!!! I just love it!
The pics are Gage reading his book. He is a big reader. He says letters from the alphabet as he looks through the book. He is reading to Spongebob and the gang. I was working in the computer room, and he had to be in there with me.
Peek-a-boo
I took a ton of pictures of Gage the other day playing under the table, etc. He was so cute!
Gage's Party
We had Gage's party on Saturday to kick off our holiday break. His birthday is not until the 26th, but we thought it would be better to have it before Christmas. He wanted a train birthday which is crazy because Gavin's 3rd birthday was trains! We had the kitchen all decorated in Thomas. His cake was adorable! We had a little "train" ride there too! We have an actual train that runs behind our house and a train was coming through and blew the whistle as we were about to the board the little ride. It was so neat! I said I had planned it! ha! The kids got to paint a train ornament and decorate a sugar cookie in between rides. The weather was not the best, but it was not TOO cold, and it had stopped raining. Gage just had the best time! He had a bunch of buddies there - Lane, Wyatt, Weston, Preston, Sierra, Cousins Anna & Jacob, Austin & Miss Lissa, Savanna, Carson, Chace, and Levi. Of course Nana, Ba, Aunt Kassy, Mema, Gram, Aunt Sandy & Uncle Terry... Gage was just too cute! He told us the birthday cake was backwards when it was not facing him to blow out the candles... (I wanted pics! ha!) He wore that little conductor hat almost the entire party! He loved all his presents! (He has been playing with all of them!) Thanks to everyone that came! Happy Birthday Gager! We cannot believe that you are now three!
Aunt Sara, Uncle Gary, and Teralee came up on Sunday. They could not make the party because Gary's niece was having a party too! They brought you your own Thomas cake, and we sang to you again after dinner that night! You were too sweet! Thanks Stews! You are the best!
Time change
Gage really did not handle the time change well. He would NOT take his normal nap on Sunday afternoon! Well he finally gave it up at 5:30 p.m. on the toy room couch. This is how we found him!
First visit to the Dentist
We all got in our cleanings before the summer was over, and it was Gage's first visit. I knew that he would sit there, but I thought there may be a few issues. Gavin did good when he went at that age, but Gage is a little fireball, so I was just not sure what would happen. The lady would tell him about her tools she was going to use. She called one the tickler (toothbrush), and he said "no it isn't that is a toothbrush!" Then she tried to tell him one was her counter (hook), and he said "that is so a hook." I was crackin' up! I cannot believe that our little man is so big!
Gage's 4th Birthday!
December 26, 2009
Gage's birthday is the day after Christmas; it was so special this year because we got to have Gage's party on his actual birthday. It is so hard having a Christmas baby and trying to work in his birthday, but it was perfect this year. Gage wanted to see the movie Alvin and the chipmunks the skeaqueal, so we had his party at the movies. He told me exactly who he wanted to invite to his party. It was the cutest thing. We are so thankful to everyone that came to make Gage's day so special. There were 14 kids there and 17 adults. Gage was so excited about everything: his guests, his presents, his cupcakes, and the movie! Their little party room was perfect for cupcakes and presents. Then all the kids got snack packs, and we headed off to the movie. The movie was too cute! Everyone seemed to really like it!
Gager, we cannot believe that you four! It just seems like yesterday when you were born! You are such a joy and light in our lives! We love you so much! Momma, Daddy, and Gav
Gage turns four and starts preschool!
Gage was so excited to start his new preschool a few weeks ago. He doing great and loving every day. His teacher was impressed that he could write his name. You are growing up too fast! We love you Gager!
Thomas the Train
Gager and momma's weekend time
Two weeks ago Crissy and I drove our babies to Grapevine, TX to see Thomas the Train! We made them the cutest shirts with their names on the back. They did so good in the car ride there, but they were ready to get out and see Thomas! It was a real Thomas engine that pulled our 25 minute train ride! Gage loved the train ride. We had a little section of bench seating that faced each other, so the boys stood and watched everything "fly" by as they said. (I don't think we were really going that fast!) It was a cute little festival in the antique station. Then we met our good ole buddy Krissie and her hubby Luke for dinner at a wonderful Mexican resturant. It was great to catch up! Then like the fast and furious chicks we are, we drove on home! ;) It was quick but so much fun!
T-ball
Gage's first organized sporting event!
Gage is old enought to play four year old t-ball this year! WooHoo! No, not really woohoo! Nothing against Gager, but this is just the funniest thing! I remember how horrible Gavin's four year old year went! They all cried if they did not get the ball! They would wrestle around on the ground for the ball. Well Gage and his team is nothing short of the same thing. If you know Gage, then you know that he is a firecracker! Well, when he doesn't get the ball, he lets you know. "MOM! I am no good at this! I can't get the ball" are his usual statements. Practice is only an hour, but that is too long for Gage. "MOM! My legs are too tired to let me stand up any longer!" is what I here after about 30 minutes. My reply, "Gage you are four not 40, I think you can handle it!" =) Oh how fun the season should be!
Finishing up T-ball
Gage really enjoyed playing t-ball this year. He loved batting. He could have stayed in the dugout when they took the field for all he cared, but then he started playing first and really liked that! He loved playing with one of his best buddies Lane too. He love getting his first trophy! He said, "Mom, I got my first trophy! Let's add it to my shelf!" He was so proud, and so were we!! :)
